The Opening Prayer
Allāhumma bāʿid baynī wa bayna khaṭāyāya kamā bāʿadta bayna al-mashriqi wa al-maghrib, Allāhumma naqqinī min khaṭāyāya kamā yunaqqā al-thawbu al-abyaḍu mina al-danas, Allāhumma aghsilnī min khaṭāyāya bil-thalji wa al-mā’i wa al-barad.
Translation
O Allah! Distance me from my sins as You have distanced the East from the West. O Allah! Purify me from my sins as a white garment is purified from dirt. O Allah! Wash away my sins with snow, water, and hail. .
اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ، اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الْأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْني مِنْ خَطَايَايَ، بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْماءِ وَالْبَرَدِ۔
Subḥānaka Allāhumma wa bihamdi-ka, wa tabāraka ismuka, wa taʿālā jaddu-ka, wa lā ilāha ghayruka.
Translation
O Allah! I declare Your purity with Your praise, Your name is full of blessings, Your majesty is exalted, and there is no deity but You. .
سُبْحانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ۔
Wajjahtu wajhīya lilladhī faṭara al-samāwāti wa al-arḍa ḥanīfan wamā anā mina al-mushrikīn, Inna ṣalātī wa nusukī wa maḥyāya wa mamātī lillāhi rabbi al-ʿālamīn, Lā sharīka lahu wabidhālika umirtu wa anā mina al-muslimīn. Allāhumma anta al-maliku lā ilāha illā anta, anta rabbī wa anā ʿabduka, Ẓalamtu nafsī wa iʿtarraftu bidhambī fa-ighfir lī dhunūbī jamīʿan, innahu lā yaghfiru al-dhunūba illā anta. Wa-hdinī li-aḥsani al-akhlāq, lā yahdī li-aḥsanihā illā anta, waṣrif ʿannī sayyi'ahā, lā yaṣrifu ʿannī sayyi'ahā illā anta, Labbayka wa saʿdayka, wa al-khayru kulluhu biyadayka, wa al-sharru laysa ilayka, anā bika wa ilayka, Tabārakta wa taʿālayta, astaghfiruka wa atūbu ilayka.
Translation
I have turned my face with full devotion to the One who created the heavens and the earth, and I am not among the polytheists. Indeed, my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are for Allah, the Lord of the worlds; He has no partner. I have been commanded to do this, and I am among those who submit to Him. O Allah! You are the King; there is no deity but You. You are my Lord, and I am Your servant. I have wronged myself and confessed my sins. So forgive all my sins, for none can forgive sins except You. Guide me to the best of character, for no one can guide to the best except You. Turn away from me bad character, for none can remove it except You. Here I am, and I am at Your service; all good is in Your hands, and evil is not attributed to You. My success is only due to You. My plea is to You, You are most blessed and most high. I seek Your forgiveness, and I turn to You in repentance. .
وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ حَنِيفَاً وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، إِنَّ صَلَاتِي، وَنُسُكِي، وَمَحْيَايَ، وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ المَلِكُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَاّ أَنْتَ، أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبي جَمِيعَاً إِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنوبَ إِلَاّ أَنْتَ. وَاهْدِنِي لِأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاقِ لَا يَهْدِي لِأَحْسَنِها إِلَاّ أَنْتَ، وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا، لَا يَصْرِفُ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا إِلَاّ أَنْتَ، لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ، وَالخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ بِيَدَيْكَ، وَالشَّرُّ لَيْسَ إِلَيْكَ، أَنَا بِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ، تَبارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتوبُ إِلَيْكَ۔
Allāhumma rabba Jibrā'īl, wa Mīkā'īl, wa Isrāfīl, Fāṭira al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ, ʿālima al-ghaybi wa al-shahāda, Anta taḥkumu bayna ʿibādika fīmā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn. Ihdinī limā ukhtulifa fīhi mina al-ḥaqqi bi-idhnik, Innaka tahdī man tashā'u ilā ṣirāṭin mustaqīm.
Translation
O Allah! Lord of Jibreel, Mikaeel, and Israfeel! Creator of the heavens and the earth! Knower of the unseen and the seen! You alone will judge between Your servants regarding that in which they differed. Guide me, by Your permission, to the truth in matters where there is disagreement. Indeed, You guide whom You will to the Straight Path. .
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرَائِيلَ، وَمِيْكَائِيلَ، وَإِسْرَافِيلَ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ، عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ أَنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ. اهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ إِنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقيمٍ۔
Allāhu akbaru kabīran, wa al-ḥamdu lillāhi kathīran, wa subḥāna Allāhi bukratan wa aṣīlā.
Translation
Allah is the Greatest, far beyond comparison. All praise is for Allah in abundance, and I glorify Allah's purity morning and evening. .
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا، وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا۔
Allāhumma laka al-ḥamdu anta nūru al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ wa man fīhinna, wa laka al-ḥamdu anta qayyimu al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ wa man fīhinna, wa laka al-ḥamdu anta rabbu al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ wa man fīhinna, wa laka al-ḥamdu laka mulku al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ wa man fīhinna, wa laka al-ḥamdu anta maliku al-samāwāti wa al-arḍ, wa laka al-ḥamdu anta al-ḥaqq, wa waʿduka al-ḥaqq, wa liqāʾuka ḥaqq, wa qawluka ḥaqq, wa al-jannatu ḥaqq, wa al-nāru ḥaqq, wa al-nabiyyūna ḥaqq, wa Muḥammadun ḥaqq, wa al-sāʿatu ḥaqq. Allāhumma laka aslamtu, wa bika āmantu, wa ʿalayka tawakkaltu, wa ilayka anabtu, wa bika khāṣamtu, wa ilayka ḥākamtu, faghfir lī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu, wa mā asrartu wa mā aʿlantu, wa mā anta aʿlamu bihi minnī. Anta al-muqaddimu wa anta al-muʾakhkhiru, lā ilāha illā anta. Anta ilāhī lā ilāha illā anta, wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāh.
Translation
O Allah! All praise is for You. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. All praise is for You; You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. All praise is for You; You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. All praise is for You; Yours is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. All praise is for You; You are the King of the heavens and the earth. You are the Truth, Your promise is the truth, Your words are the truth, meeting You is the truth, Paradise is the truth, Hellfire is the truth, the Prophets are the truth, Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the truth, and the Day of Judgment is the truth. O Allah! To You, I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned, and by Your help, I have contested (against enemies). To You, I seek judgment. So forgive me for what I have done in the past and what I will do in the future, for what I have concealed and what I have disclosed, and for what You know more about me than I do. You are the One who advances and the One who delays. There is no deity but You. You are my God; there is no deity but You. There is no power to avoid sin and no strength to do good except through Allah. .
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيْمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ رَبُّ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ مَلِكُ السَّمَوتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ الْحَقِّ وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ وَقَوْلُكَ حَقٌّ وَالجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ وَمُحَمَّدٌ حَقٌّ وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ ، اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَ عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَ بكَ خَاصَمْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمُتُ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَرُتْ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ ، وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي أنتَ المُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ أَنتَ إِلهِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ۔
