Prayers for the Evening
**Yā ḥayyū yā qayyūm, birahmatika astaghīth, aṣliḥ lī shā’nī kullahu walā takilnī ilā nafsī ṭarfata ‘aynin.**
Translation
"O Ever-Living, O Sustainer! I seek help through Your mercy. Set right all my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye." .
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِيَ كُلَّهُ وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ۔
Amsaynā ‘alā fiṭratil-islām, wa ‘alā kalimatil-ikhlāṣ, wa ‘alā dīni nabīyinā Muḥammadin ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam, wa ‘alā millati abīnā Ibrāhīma ḥanīfan musliman wamā kāna mina-l-mushrikīn.
Translation
"We have entered the morning upon the natural disposition of Islam, the word of sincerity, the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the millah (way) of our father Ibrahim (peace be upon him), who was upright (and) obedient, and he was not of the polytheists." .
أَمْسَيْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الْإِسْلَامِ ، وَعَلَى كَلِمَةِ الْإِخْلَاصِ، وَعَلَى دِينِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَنِيفاً مُسْلِماً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشرِكِينَ۔
Sub-ḥaa-nal-laahi wa bi-ḥam-dihi.
Translation
"I declare the purity of Allah along with His praise." (Recite it 100 times.) .
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ۔
Laa ilaaha illal-laahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu wa huwa ‘alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.
Translation
"There is no deity except Allah; He is One, without any partner. His is the sovereignty, and His is the praise, and He has power over all things." (Recite it ten times or once during moments of laziness.) .
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَاّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ۔ (عشرَ مرَّات أَوْ مرَّةً واحدةً عندَ الكَسَلِ)
A‘oodhu bi-kalimaatillaahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaq.
Translation
"I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of His creation." (This supplication should be recited three times in the evening.) .
أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ۔
Allaahumma inni amsaytu ush-hiduka wa ush-hidu ḥamalata ‘arshika wa malaa’ikataka wa jamee‘a khalqika, annaka anta Allaahu laa ilaaha illa anta waḥdaka laa shareeka lak, wa anna Muḥammadan ‘abduka wa rasooluk.
Translation
"O Allah, indeed I have entered the evening bearing witness to You, to the carriers of Your Throne, to Your angels, and to all of Your creation, that You are Allah; there is no deity except You, You are One, without partner, and indeed Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is Your servant and Your messenger." .
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَمْسَيْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَلَائِكَتِكَ، وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَاّ أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ۔
