The prayer for the beginning of a journey

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, {Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hatha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin * wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun}. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hatha al-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tardha. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hatha watwi 'anna bu'dahu. Allahumma Antas-Sahibu fis-safari, wal-Khalifatu fil-ahli. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safari, wa ka'abatil-manzari, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahli.

Translation

Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest. Glory be to Him who has subjected this (vehicle) to us, for we could not have subdued it on our own. And indeed, to our Lord we will surely return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey for righteousness, piety, and deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance for us. O Allah, You are the Companion on this journey and the Successor over our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from distressing sights, and from an unfavorable return in wealth and family. .
